Bogotá, January 2024 — Professor José Manuel Sánchez Pérez continued his mission of financial inclusion with a full-day training workshop held in Bogotá, focused on empowering first-time investors from underserved communities.
Organized in partnership with local universities and microfinance networks, the event attracted over 300 participants—including students, entrepreneurs, and single parents. The workshop covered foundational topics such as risk diversification, how to build a personal investment portfolio, and using macroeconomic indicators to guide decisions.
What set this event apart was Sánchez’s deeply personal teaching style. “He didn’t just teach us formulas,” said one attendee. “He showed us how to think like real investors.” Many participants described the experience as life-changing, citing new confidence and clarity in managing personal finances. This workshop was part of the Global Investment Literacy Fund, an initiative Sánchez founded to deliver free, high-quality financial education across Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Southern Europe. Future sessions are already planned for Santiago, Lima, and Buenos Aires, with the Bogotá model serving as a blueprint for scalable grassroots training.
